GOP Winning Strategy To Elect Democrats In 2014

Republicans in Congress HATE the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare). They have tried to repeal it 40 times while not even considering a needed jobs bill. They would rather put the 1% ahead of those who need help with the cost of basic health care. Now some of the rogue GOP members want to hold all us hostage by causing a government shut down this fall. They demand that Obamacare be defunded or else. They are under the delusion that jazzing up their small block of bigoted selfish voters will bring them overall victory in 2014 and 2016. Going for a shutdown will in fact bring a strong victory for Democrats.

More than a third of House Republicans urged their leader Thursday to trigger a government shutdown rather than fund the implementation of the health care overhaul they call “Obamacare.”

A letter from 80 Republicans asked Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, to resist any spending bills that would accommodate the new health care law, which is nearing a critical stage of signing up millions of Americans for health coverage.

Because it’s virtually certain that President Barack Obama and the Democratic-controlled Senate would reject such demands, leaders of both parties say the standoff likely would result in a partial shutdown of the federal government, similar to those that occurred in 1995 and 1996.

80 House Members: Shutdown Better Than ‘Obamacare’

Of course they think that a shutdown, if it happens, will be blamed on President Obama. They might want to reconsider:

It’s possible they’ll be able to convince every member of their hardcore Tea Party base to interpret events in exactly that way. But I have a sneaking suspicion that the leadership of the party, even the rightwingers, understand that normal people will see that it’s the Republicans shutting down the government. Because — reality.

Doubling down on stupid

The rich assholes in Congress and their pundit media enablers make a mockery of what this country is suppose to be about and I’m not the only one who thinks that. Heather over at Crooks and Liars writes:

I generally don’t mind watching GOP infighting and these people going at each other, but it’s really frightening and disturbing to watch these irresponsible hostage takers be willing to blow up the economy of the United States and do untold damage to our citizens in order to score political points. I don’t recall ever seeing anything as callous and dangerous in my lifetime and the fact that the media is willing to prop these guys up and give them air time as though what they’re threatening is rational is really disgusting to put it mildly.

But that is what the tea party Republican assholes do. They put themselves, and their coporate bribes, ahead of people who need the health care assistance that the Affordable Care Act will provide.
