Ohio Governor Kaisch unhinged as usual
I just love the word gymnastics a politician attempts in order to hold one narrow position and totally ignore the larger implications of that position. Ohio Governor John Kasich said in a recent interview he opposes same sex marriage but claimed to support civil unions until it was pointed out that was an alternative to same sex marriage. He says he opposes discrimination but based on his walk back on civil unions he is a liar.
It all started as it usually does with Kasich speaking without thinking about what he’s saying:
“I really can’t see one, I mean, I talked to Rob and encouraged him,” Kasich said. “If people want to have civil unions and have some way to transfer their resources, I’m for that. I don’t support gay marriage. “
“I’ve got friends that are gay and I’ve told them ‘Look, (same sex marriage) is just not something I agree with’ and I’m not doing it out of a sense of anger or judgment, it’s just my opinion on this issue. “
“I just think marriage is between a man and a woman, but if you want to have a civil union that’s fine with me,” Kasich said.

Of course I’m sure some conservatives – the same ones who attacked Sen. Portman for changing his mind about gay marriage, lost their mind forcing Kaisch’s office to walk back his remarks:
“The governor’s position is unchanged. He opposes gay marriage and opposes changing Ohio’s Constitution to allow for civil unions,” said Nichols. “He’s opposed to discrimination against any Ohioan and, while he may have used the term ‘civil union’ loosely in this instance, he recognizes the existing rights of Ohioans to enter into private contracts to manage their personal property and health care issues.”

So how does that fucking work in reality???
How can one say you oppose discrimination but oppose same sex marriage – the poster child of discrimination??
He supports “private contracts” – or whatever he wants to call civil unions unless you are gay? Really?
How can that shit-head Kasich sit there and say he doesn’t want his gay friends to enjoy the same benefits of citizenship that he enjoys? How can someone do that to a friend?
If I was gay and he was my friend I would kick is ass to the curb.
His “clarification” makes him a fucking liar.
